Dear members of the community of the Compostela Group of Universities,

On behalf of the Executive Committee and CGU’s technical staff, I would like to express my gratitude for your involvement in the diverse projects developed by our network to commemorate the 25th anniversary of its foundation. Projects such as the International Meeting of Rectors on the Camino de Santiago or Linking University Knowledge on the Camino initiative, through which we support our members in facing the new challenges of Higher Education defined by sustainability.

Besides, we have invited you to take a photographic and audiovisual tour of this period to celebrate and remember with us those people and activities that have marked our history. A living history that continues to evolve with new strategic actions and new milestones such as the recently obtained declaration of a public utility entity that will allow us to improve the position of the association and extend its effects to our associate members and the whole of society.

This year has also been important for our expansion, in which the General Assembly held in Mexico played an important role thanks to the support provided by the University of Guadalajara. It allowed us to strengthen our ties with many American networks and institutions of higher education, as well as with the people of that rich continent. Next year, our meeting will take place at the University of Minho in Portugal, where we are sure to have many great satisfactions awaiting us.

We will continue to advance on the path traced by the CGU towards a better future for all, in which we hope to continue to count on the invaluable collaboration of all our member Universities and the communities they represent.
